Out of ideas?
‘name it’ encourages kids to Unplug & Play with 36 free activity cards in stores this spring

Growing up in a digital world, kids today feel at ease around screens and monitors, and use them extensively every day. But little humans need more than digital skills to fully experience the world.
That’s why name it is dedicating its Spring 17 campaign to encouraging physical play, hands-on creativity, focused investigation and fun exploring. And you can join in!
Get up and get crafty
How often have you heard your kids complain about being completely bored when their permitted screen time is over? Now you can bring them to the name it stores and collect 36 great ideas for activities and games away from anything that needs plugging in.

In stores for nine weeks this spring, name it is giving away Collection Boxes with 36 different instruction cards for games, crafts, DIYs, recipes, dressing up and much more. Every week you can pick up a new set of four cards for your box, each card describing an activity that encourages children to unplug and play, use their creativity, their bodies and their senses.

Playing is developing
With this campaign, name it makes a very clear point about growing up in an increasingly digital world:

“At name it, play is at our core. We have always based our designs on kids’ lives as they are – playing, exploring, moving and getting dirty. We truly believe that today’s kids should develop their tactile senses like touch, smell and taste more, by scraping their knees, getting covered in paint, or exploring the world of insects. By bringing back games, crafts and other elements from times gone by, we can help children to develop into well-rounded human beings,” Trine Ørskov, Marketing Communications Manager, explains.

3 Freebie toys
In three of the nine weeks, a freebie toy will come with your cards, like pavement chalk for hopscotch or a magnifying glass for building a bug hotel. In addition, one activity each week will contain a link to a YouTube tutorial.

The nine themes are: Cardboard and Paper Play, Mom’s Childhood Games, Paint Play, Make Your Own Costumes, Dad’s Childhood Games, Creative Play, Kitchen Play, Nature’s Playground and Nature Art.

Unplug & Play Collection Boxes are available from TODAY – 2 February in name it stores across Europe.
